Fun In October

I seriously can’t believe that we’re done with October!  Time really does fly by when you’re having fun.  October started off with a super fun night at the Straz when my husband, a couple of friends of mine and I all went to go see Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper live. It was much better than I expected. Anderson Cooper was really interesting and the stories they told were hilarious.  I thought Andy would be more of the talker but it was Anderson that had the most to say.  I would definitely recommend that show to anyone that wants to have a fun night out.  They had a Q & A at the end of the show but I chickened out on asking anything, mostly because I couldn’t think of something clever enough at the time. My outfit on the other hand, was on point. I know if Andy had seen me, he would’ve loved it lol   I wore a glittery jumpsuit by Leith I found at Nordstroms in an XL- which is not something that happens to me very often these days. Its very rare when I find something that fits me at the mall- which is very aggrevating when you want a last minute outfit (usually asos saves the day with their two day shipping). Anyway, so I paired it with a mesh Rokoko bodysuit from asos, large pink Chanel earrings, silver strappy Louboutins and a pink YSL clutch I bought at Mosh Posh, a consignment store here in Tampa.

The following week, we did a family trip to the Hunsader Farms in Bradenton.  It was awesome!  It was a bit of a drive for us and the weather was steamier then I would have liked, but the kids had a great time.  How could they not have fun?  They had pony rides, camel rides, a dirt bike show, train rides, hayrides, a million games for them to play, animals to pet, a huge corn-maze, face painters and lots of carnival food.  They also had a wonderful pumpkin patch, that I regretfully didn’t purchase a pumpkin from because I thought it would rot by the time Halloween came.  It turns out there must have been some sort of pumpkin shortage because there were no pumpkins four days before Halloween anywhere near me.  I’ll get you next year pumpkin!  Anyway, I really wanted to wear cute boots, a chunky cardi and a fun hat- but it was a thousand degrees that day so I had to “autumnize” my usual Florida weather clothes as much as I could but also keep it child chasing friendly.  I wore a purple gingham shirt I found on asos, Torrid jean shorts, Malone Souliers Savannah lace-up sandals I purchased from Net-a-Porter’s after Christmas sale, Forever 21 velour headband, Chloe sunnies and a Loeffler Randel purse I bought at Nordstrom Rack.
After spending the afternoon at the farm, we made a mad dash back to the house to get ready to go to the Humane Society’s gala.  Me being me, I got the time wrong and thought we didn’t have to be there until 7, but as it turned out, it started at 5:00.  There went my nap- yes I nap.  I started napping in my early 20’s when I was partying all the time and my dad told me that if I didn’t get enough sleep, I would start aging myself  (te vas a envejecer!).  Naturally, I trained myself to take take “disco naps” once I figured out that he wasn’t just telling me that to keep me from having fun (he would tell my friends I was “recharging” my batteries whenever they would call the house during my naps).  So, I had to get ready really quickly.  Fortunately, I already had my outfit planned out.  The theme was Rio and I had the perfect orange Halston Heritage dress I randomly bought earlier in the year from off 5th( in the clearance section with an additional 50 % off).  I purchased this AMAZING head piece from Jezebels fascinations on Etsy (check out her stuff, its so beautiful! I can’t wait to get a fascinator from her for Derby Day), a pair of gold metallic YSL tribute sandals and a clear clutch I bought at Top Shop.
The gala was beautiful, fun and the a lot of money was raised for the homeless animals in the Tampa Bay Area.  Unfortunately, I started getting sick while I was there and wasn’t able to make it to the after party.  3 weeks later, I finally started to feel better- Right on time for Halloween!  We didn’t do anything crazy. Went to a Kings of Leon concert, that was amazing, and then went to a friends house for a block party for the kids to trick or treat. I dressed up as Regina George’s mom from mean girls and my husband was suppose to be the coach that tells everyone not to have sex, but everyone thought he was Bruce Jenner- so he was Bruce Jenner. I dressed the boys up as Nacho Libre.
