Falling In Love With Fall

It’s that time of year when the temperatures start to dip below 90 degrees and I force the feeling of fall onto everyone that comes to my house.  I bust out all my pumpkin scented EVERYTHING, my “It’s fall y’all” pillow ( so everyone knows what time it is), my gazillion Halloween decorations, I start thinking about what costumes I’m going to get/make for my family, and more importantly, I do some serious shopping for the sake of season change. Usually I add a pair of boots, a couple of fall colored tops to transition into fall and a Fun Fall Playlist on iTunes.
However, this season, there are SOOOOO many cute things I needed to add to my closet.  Bold and shimmery metallic rompers and skirts.  Pearl embellished jeans and dresses.  Velvet slip dresses, wide leg pants and handbags.  Kitten heels, mules, fuzzy slides and booties.  For colors, I’m obsessed with all things rose pink and burgundy.  I’m still on the fence about fall’s latest trend: the beret. I wore a beret the first time I went to Paris  years ago.  I swore them (and trucker hats) off for the rest of my life, but let’s get real, I know I am going to wear one as soon as I feel a cool breeze on the top of my head because cuteness.
With so many fab trends to try out, I decided to start with new make up. I purchased Laura Mercier’s “Red Chocolate” lip liner, Tom Ford’s waterproof foundation, “Honeymoon” eye palette, “Velvet Cherry” and “Dark and Stormy” lipsticks and “Ravish” cheek color. This was my first time using Tom Ford’s make up other than his lip and nail polish, and I must say I’m impressed. The foundation is absolutely amazing! It goes on smooth, lasts all day, doesn’t cake up nor sink into the lines on my face. The eyeshadows are super pigmented- something I’m not really used to and went over board the first time I did my own make up with it. Less is more for sure! I prefer a more light and neutral look during the day but total vamp at night. So I’m working on how to use these colors for day looks.

For clothes, I decided to start with my shimmery skirt I bought from Premme and I LOVE it! I paired it with a Moschino shirt I purchased on clearance a couple of years ago at OFF 5th, a pair of kitten heel Gucci sandals I also bought on clearance from Saks ( final clearance sales at department stores truly make me happy), small star shaped Chanel earrings and a Stella McCartney bag I purchased from Net-A-Porter’s after Christmas sale.
